PADI Instructor Development Course Koh Phangan
The Course
The Koh Phangan IDC is made up of two parts. First of all starting with the Assistant Instructor Course and also the Open Water Scuba Instructor Program. Finally to complete the IDC, attend an Instructor Examination (IE). This is then the final step in becoming a PADI Instructor.
The PADI Instructor Development Course Koh Phangan teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses. How to organise and present information, conduct skill development and control open water dives. As a result, become a better public speaker. Likewise, excellent at demonstrating skills while watching out for diver safety. Key topics include:
- PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach with in water workshops.
- Learning, Instruction and the PADI System.
- Risk Management and Diver Safety.
- The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor.
- Marketing Diving and Sales Counselling.
PADI Instructor Development Course Koh Phangan Includes
- All required dive equipment.
- PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Certification.
- Breakfast, lunch and refreshments during Sail Rock boat trips.
- Resort Transfers. Taxi fee of 400 THB per person, per day is payable if located in Thong Nai Pan. No Haad Yuan or Haad Tien transfers.
Course Options
The course runs for 14 days.
Prerequisites
First of all to signup to this course you must have been a certified PADI Divemaster for at least six months. Furthermore you’ll also need:
- At least 60 logged dives and 100 dives to attend an IE.
- Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care training within the past 24 months.
- A medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
**Breakfast, lunch, refreshments are not included for classroom/pool days.**

When I was planning to do my IDC I was traveling and looking for a good place where I will feel like home. My friend pointed me to Koh Phangan and his friend who is Dive Instructor in Asia Blue Scuba.
I check up resort with pool, office, shop, boat…everything is great! In few day I met most of Stuff working for a same company. I liked them a lot. And the island. Batch of diferent caracters in love with same live still. Beautyfull Stuff to work with.
My Course Director was Chris Heaton and I learned many things from him. Management and Stuff really helped us in the meaning of resources and support. Instructors and DMs shared there experience with us so we dont make rookie mistakes.
All in all, I feel like at home.
